Welcome to the website for the First Congregational Church of Douglas.
At First Congregational, we want you to feel like you are the one returning to the ninety-nine (see Matt 18: 12-13). Here, we welcome you as you are with all of the potential that you have of building a deeper relationship with God. It isn't about the building you're in; it's about building a relationship of reconciling yourself to your Creator. We're here to help you, to support you, to walk with you, and to love you with the love that has been given us through our faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

If you're visiting in the area, don't hesitate to stop by and worship with us. There is a warm welcome for all!
What you can expect:
When you first come, you can expect a lot of things: A warm welcome, an informal atmosphere where you don't need to wear your "Sunday best" to attend, contemporary music with a touch of the traditional hymns added in, and the Bible at the forefront. You will see people of all ages participating in the worship as well as singing, reading scripture, and leading in parts of worship at certain points. You can expect teaching that is relevant to you and your life, helping you to overcome the struggles of today. There's even a nursery and Sunday School provided for your children. We hope to greet you in warm fellowship and ask you how you are and we actually want to hear the answer. You can expect people who care about you.
More than anything, we want you to see a congregation that has learned that the relationships we have with God and each other are much more important than the building in which we are gathered.
